Who We Are

The high level of specialization achieved in air transport activities

has made it possible for Beta-Trans to operate outside airports, a recognition also endorsed by ENAC and the Customs Agency.

PROFESSIONALISM SINCE 1957

In May 1957, the professional activity of "Agenzia Doganale Rag. Giuseppe Bianculli" began at the Milan Customs.

Later, with the expansion of Milan Customs in the Lombardy region, customs offices were opened at Linate and Malpensa airports, Concorezzo, and Turbigo.

BETA-TRANS

At the same time, the business experienced continuous growth, both in customs services and in ancillary shipping services, with a particular focus on managing both air and maritime warehouses.

The emergence of new commercial and customs realities led, in 1983, to the creation of BETA-TRANS, which, while not neglecting customs operations, intensified the management of third-party warehouses, in addition to the authorization to operate under domiciled procedures for both customs warehouses and VAT purposes. These services were aimed at a specific clientele such as freight forwarding companies, shipping agents, airlines, maritime companies, and consolidators.

To meet the specific needs of air transport/GSA activities, a terminal was designed and built in Segrate, featuring modern facilities for the construction and storage of air pallets (PLTS). In April 2002, the new facility was inaugurated, and in the following June, our company won the bid to manage the cargo sector for one of the largest air cargo companies, AIR FRANCE.

Three years later, thanks to the services provided, KLM entrusted the management of its shipments to the same terminal, thus finalizing the AF/KLM strategy known as "the same roof." In 2009, ALITALIA CARGO joined AF/KLM, and a year later, MARTINAIR became part of the current group. Today, multiple airlines and GSAs utilize our dedicated air cargo services.

The level of professionalism achieved has also been legitimized by ENAC (Italian Civil Aviation Authority) and the Customs Agency through three key milestones:

  • In December 2003, BETA-TRANS S.p.A. obtained the eligibility to operate within Malpensa Airport to perform ground services for goods from ENAC.
  • In January 2004, BETA-TRANS S.p.A. received the prestigious "AUTHORIZED HANDLER" qualification from ENAC, which in March 2008 was renamed "REGULATED AGENT" in accordance with European regulations.
  • In March 2009, it achieved AEO certification (Authorized Economic Operator), code IT AEOF 090053, which qualifies BETA-TRANS S.p.A. as a "FULL AUTHORIZED ECONOMIC OPERATOR FOR CUSTOMS SIMPLIFICATIONS/SECURITY."
