Following our entry into Cargo City at Malpensa as Airport Handlers, Beta Airport was born as a division of Beta-Trans SpA
For over 10 years, the Group had been trying to obtain this opportunity, but due to the lack of space and suitable structures, it had not been possible until now.
The structure is divided into areas based on the main types of goods, which include:
20 unloading doors for bulk export goods; 1 or 2 doors with ramp connections for smaller vans or trucks; 1 or 2 doors dedicated and connected to airside for oversized goods; 2 doors equipped for unloading BUP, including 20ft pallets.
Up to 12 doors to receive pallets from the airside area for subsequent loading onto dollies to be brought under the aircraft. 2 or 3 doors dedicated to oversized and bulk goods.
2 doors for unloading BUP equipped with platforms with rollers and 20ft pallet elevators.
dedicated area for oversized goods with suitable equipment, including a forklift with at least 18 tons of capacity.
Work Stations for the construction/opening of both import and export pallets.
Each platform is placed in a pit with a depth of at least 2.20 meters, allowing the platform to lower as the pallet is built, reaching a depth of about 160 cm so that the operator can work at a height of approximately 140 cm from the ground.
All platforms are equipped with motorized rollers and are connected to the stacker and/or directly to the airside.
Each Work Station is equipped with an electronic scale capable of weighing the pallet and printing a sheet with the weight, pallet number, etc. It is also equipped with an electronic device for controlling the pallet's dimensions.
Stacker for the storage of all pallets, including both import pallets and BUPs. The stacker can hold a sufficient number of pallets to manage multiple cargo flights per day and stores approximately 260 pallets, with construction up to 3 levels.
An area of approximately 600/800 square meters for the construction of refrigerated cells as follows:
2 cells at C° -25, one for HC products and the other for NHC products;
2 cells at C° +2/+8, one for HC products and the other for NHC products;
1 cell at C° +15/+25 for plants, flowers, some pharmaceuticals, and vegetables.
Outdoor area equipped for hazardous goods.
Also equipped with:
A room for high-value goods;
Areas for customs inspections;
DGR zones (Dangerous Goods Regulations);
Zones for various sensitive goods;
Zone for securing goods.
A loading/unloading door for express goods with direct access to processing areas with dedicated personnel.
The new structure is IATA CEIV PHARMA certified (Center of Excellence for Independent Validators in Pharmaceutical Handling).
